Got Dreams? He Did!

"I have a dream that one day even the state of Mississippi, a state sweltering with the eat of injustice, sweltering with the heat of oppression, will be transformed into an oasis of freedom and justice.

I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.

Click on the picture to watch Martin Luther King say his famous "I Have A Dream Speech". You might need to wait a minute for the video to load.
Now  you've heard about the man who had a dream. The only question is, are you ready to have yours?

I have a dream today!"

That was a tiny portion of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s  speech.

Dr. King's  speech "I Have a Dream" was presented on August 28, 1963. Around 250,000 people were there to hear him. Martin Luther King Junior had a dream. The only question is, DO YOU?
  •      Who was Martin Luther King Junior?
  •     When people talk about Martin Luther King Junior having a dream, what do they mean?
  •       Did Martin Luther King Jr. have any kids?

The questions that we have asked above we are going to try to answer now. The first question asks about who Martin is. Martin Luther King Jr. is a man who helped blacks become equal. He preformed wonderful acts and was a very smart man too. Its very hard to describe him and brilliant is only part of him.

The second question talks about Dr. King having a dream. We think that when people talk about him having a dream they mean that he wanted all peoples to be equal. other people might be talking about his "I Have A Dream" speech. We both think that his speech was the best speech that we've ever heard!

We didn't ask this question above, but it's important enough that we know we should mention it. People can make Martin Luther King's dream their dream by treating everyone equal regardless of the color of their skin or as Dr. King would say, look at the "content of their character". Another thing that we could do is just to make friends with everyone. How would you feel if you were treated different just because of something on the outside?

The last and final question asked is if MLK had any kids. The answer to that question is yes! Dr. King married Coretta Scott and together they had four kids. The had two sons and two daughters. His oldest son was Martin Luther the third who was born in 1975. Their other son is Dexter Scott who was born in 1961. Their two daughters are Yolanda Denise who was born in 1955 and Bernice Albertine who was born in 1963.
